While there are many applications that can do this, NetworkManager and WvDial are two of the most popular and reliable options. However, you must configure an application to establish and manage the cellular connection. The Zoom 4650 uses a Quectel BG96 modem internally, which is natively supported in Linux kernel versions 2.6 and above, and therefore does not require any additional driver installation.
